1. Do I need to be in shape before joining?

No. You do not need to be in shape to start. Our adult program is built to meet you where you are, help you move safely, and build strength, confidence, and consistency over time.

2. Is Freak Strength beginner-friendly for adults?

Yes. We coach adults of all fitness levels, including people who are brand new, getting back into training, or nervous about starting again. Every workout is coached, structured, and adjusted as needed.

3. What kind of adult fitness programs do you offer?

We offer adult large-group training, small-group training, personal training, and transformation programs. Each program is designed to help adults build strength, lose body fat, improve energy, increase longevity, and feel better outside the gym through fitness, nutrition, and accountability.

4. How is Freak Strength different from a regular gym?

Yes. Every workout is coach-led. Our coaches guide you through the session, teach proper form, adjust exercises when needed, and make sure you are training safely and effectively. This is not a part-time job for our coaches, this is their chosen life-long career and livelihood. You're more than just a "member number" here.

6. Can the workouts be modified for my fitness level or limitations?

Yes. Our coaches adjust exercises based on your ability, experience, injury history, and goals. The goal is to train hard, but safely and intelligently. Programs are individualized per person and autoregulated based around how you show up feeling for each session.

7. Is this a good gym for weight loss?

Yes. Our adult programs help support weight loss through strength training, conditioning, nutrition guidance, and accountability as part of our offered transformation programs. We focus on building sustainable habits instead of quick fixes, and prioritize long-term results that last.

8. Is Freak Strength good for adults over 40 or 50?

Yes. The majority of our adult members are in their 40s, 50s, and beyond. Most are mom or dads, or busy professionals. Our training is designed to help adults build strength, improve energy, move better, and stay active long-term through flexible scheduling and time-efficient sessions.

9. Do you offer personal training or small-group training in Oakland, NJ?

Yes. We offer personal training, small-group training, and adult group training at our gym in Oakland, NJ with this being the ONLY location. Each option provides coaching, structure, and accountability based on your goals and needs.

10. Do you provide nutrition guidance?

Yes. We provide nutrition guidance to help adults improve body composition, energy, and consistency. The goal is to make nutrition simple, realistic, and sustainable for your lifestyle. It is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Diet plans are adjusted per person to match their goals or desired outcomes.

11. What should I expect during my first adult workout?

You can expect a structured, coach-led workout in a supportive environment. Our coaches will explain the session, help you with proper form, and modify anything needed so you feel comfortable getting started. Less is more on day 1 in most cases. The goal is to leave here pain-free and fatigued but not crushed. Coaches follow Day 1 Protocols to prevent pushing new members past the point of overexertion.

12. Can I try Freak Strength before signing up long-term?

Yes. First-time visitors can try our adult program before making a long-term commitment. This gives you a chance to experience the coaching, workouts, and community before deciding if it is the right fit. Click the "Book a Trial Class" on the home page to submit your info!

13. What is the adult training schedule?

Our adult training schedule includes morning, evening, and weekend options. The schedule is designed to work for busy adults, professionals, and parents who need efficient, structured workouts. We hold sessions as early as 6AM, and as late as 7PM on a weekly basis.

14. How much does adult training at Freak Strength cost?

Pricing depends on the program that best fits your goals, schedule, and level of support. We offer different adult training options, including group training, small-group training, and personal training. Programs can range anywhere from $15/session to $150/session depending on program, needs, and training setting. Monthly, packages, and memberships all offered.

15. Where is Freak Strength located?

Freak Strength is located at 12 Wright Way, Oakland, NJ 07436. Directly up the hill from the Oakland ShopRite, inside the industrial complex on the border of Franklin Lakes, NJ. We serve adults from Oakland and surrounding towns looking for coaching, structure, accountability, and a supportive training community.
